Grace Calls Us to Be — Not to Do
Part 5: In quietness and Confident Trust

We live in a world that emphasizes doing, achieving, and staying ahead as symbols of strength. Productivity and visibility are celebrated as the ultimate measures of success, but these powerful words offer a paradox that feels almost countercultural:
“In quietness and in confident trust will be your strength.” — Isaiah 30:15
These words were spoken to a people who, like us, were weary from striving — always planning, fixing, and doing. They sought strength in alliances, strategies, and human effort. The harder they laboured, the more frustrated they became.
But God invited them to something far simpler, yet infinitely more powerful: restful confidence.
Real strength, He says, isn’t born from constant motion but from stillness — a quiet trust that anchors the heart when everything else feels uncertain.
It’s in the calm surrender of our need to control that divine power finds space to flow through us. When we spare a few minutes a day (even just 10% of our time) to sit in silence and stillness, we shut out the constant noise and are more likely to hear the still small voice within, receiving guidance, clarity, and reassurance.
In these moments, we reconnect with our truest selves, the source of resilience and wisdom, and allow grace to guide our thoughts, decisions, and actions.
Quietness doesn’t mean passivity; it means peace.
Stillness is not synonymous with idleness — it is a powerful practice that allows our minds to reflect, and in that quiet space, we can discover the strength and clarity we’ve been seeking all along.
Confident trust is not denial of struggle; it is knowing who holds us in the struggle.
So today, may you find strength not in what you do, but in who you rest in.
In quietness, grace whispers. In trust, it strengthens.
It lights your way, guiding each step as your path unfolds. You don’t need to see the whole road ahead — just take each step with quiet, confident trust.
